It is our goal to educate you on how to best take care of your own oral health. Prevention is key. Routine exams help prevent small problems from becoming big problems. It is at these visits that we will design a custom treatment plan based on your specific needs and desires, be they disease control or cosmetic concerns, we are here to help. Having regular dental cleanings will remove any plaque or tartar which can lead to tooth decay and periodontal disease. We will floss and polish your teeth and look for signs of any damaging dental conditions or diseases.
We have such wonderful hygienists who are educated and experienced to help you maintain great oral health. Dental cleanings should be scheduled every 3 to 6 months, to avoid the damaging effects of periodontal disease, such as bone loss, increased bacterial load in our mouth, halitosis and even tooth loss. Our dental hygienists get into hard to reach areas of the gums and teeth in order to remove bacteria and plaque build up. Plaque is a hard substance that adheres to the surface of a tooth. Too much plaque and tartar can cause gum disease and problems with teeth.
Kiddos are super important to us which is why we would love to see your kids in our office where we can all work together to maintain our young people's oral health. When your kids visit us they just might find cookies in the waiting room, they just might get a ride on our super cool chairs and they will find a treasure box with a gift waiting for them. Along with the fun we will teach children how to brush properly and the importance of healthy teeth. Dr. Trott is a teacher at heart, and is ready to answer your questions about how to ensure a lifetime of healthy smiles.

Dental caries (also known as decay or cavities) is one of, if not the most prevalent chronic diseases affecting children and adults. Dental caries is when dental decay compromises a tooth's structural integrity. When this happens the decay is removed and a filling gets placed to rebuild your tooth's natural form and restore its strength and function. The Dental Designs team is ready to provide you with precise, comfortable dental fillings that will be very aesthetically pleasing.
Dental Crowns and Bridges
If you have broken or damaged teeth a great treatment plan would be dental crowns (also sometimes referred to as "caps"). Crowns are designed to restore the strength, functionality and appearance of your teeth. Each crown is custom made to fit perfectly over your original tooth after decay removal, to prevent further damage. Missing teeth can be replaced by placing a crown on top of a dental implant. Crowns are a long-lasting solution to your oral health and smile. If you lose a tooth your remaining teeth can shift out of place and cause issues with bite, speech, and an interrupted smile. A dental bridge will literally “bridge” the gap in your smile to keep your teeth in the correct position, maintain a healthy bite and give you back a beautiful smile. Dental bridges are typically anchored in place by crowns attached to the teeth on either side of the prosthetic tooth but may also be supported by a dental implant.
If you have lost a tooth or need an extraction dental implants are a great solution to creating a durable, long-lasting, comfortable smile. A dental implant is a prosthetic tooth designed to replace your root and your crown. This becomes a permanent tooth replacement, with excellent function and esthetics. You may need a single tooth, a dental bridge or a complete or partial denture depending on how many teeth you are missing, all of which can be supported using implants. Dr. Trott will discuss your options and will create for you an esthetically pleasing and durable smile.
Dental veneers are often recommended to correct smile imperfections. Veneers can close spaces and gaps, they can whiten teeth that are very stained, they can improve irregularly shaped teeth, correct slightly crooked teeth and restore chipped, broken or worn down teeth. Veneers are made of advanced, durable materials and are very thin shells bonded to the front of your teeth to enhance the beauty of your smile. Your smile will remain bright for years to come since the new materials are stain resistant. Dr. Trott can make you custom-made veneers for just one tooth or for your entire smile.
An extraction is the removal of a tooth. We strive to help you keep your original smile but there are some cases in which complete removal is necessary. The following are some reasons we would consider an extraction: 1. If you are suffering from a severe infection that has caused great destruction to a portion of your tooth and supporting bone. 2. If you have severe decay that has destroyed a tooth 3. Or if you have crowding caused by too many teeth. If extraction is necessary then we are ready to provide you with a top quality replacement treatment to restore health, beauty and function to your tooth.
Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Often times between the ages of 17-25 our third set of molars, called wisdom teeth, appear. When a wisdom tooth doesn't have enough room to grow it becomes impacted and needs to be removed. Wisdom teeth have the potential to cause damage to surrounding teeth and bones making it necessary to remove them.
Implant Supported Dentures
Implant supported dentures are permanently affixed in your mouth to implants in your jaw bones. You no longer have to worry about adhesive pastes with traditional dentures. Often times traditional dentures will loosen when chewing hard foods, when clinching or when participating physical activity. With implant supported dentures you no longer have to worry about these typical problems. Now you can smile with confidence knowing that the implants will look natural, last forever, and never fall out.
If you have had multiple teeth extracted you may have bone spurs and a contour to your jawline. Alveoplasty is a procedure used to contour your jaw so your prosthetic fits comfortably.
If you are looking for potentially more comfortable dental procedures involving hard and soft tissue then laser dentistry might be just the thing for you. Light amplification by the stimulated emission of radiation (Laser) dental procedures create light energy in a very narrow and focused beam. When this laser light hits tissue there is a reaction that allows reshaping or removal of tissue. We can use laser to treat hypersensitivity, tooth decay, gum disease, teeth whitening, and much more.
Dr. Trott uses dental lasers to perform frenectomies. Fenectomies refer to procedures that remove the connective tissue (called the frenum) at either the top or the bottom of the mouth. Maxillary frenectomy is a procedure that removes the tissue connecting the upper gums to the front tooth . Lingual frenectomy is a procedure involving removal of the tissued connecting the underside of the tongue to the floor of the mouth.
Photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy) previously known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is used to increase speed, tensile strength and quality of tissue repair. PBM uses red and near infra-red lights to reduce swelling, to relieve acute and chronic pain, to improve wound and soft tissue healing.
We also use laser therapy to treat oral ulcers. The laser vaporizes the tissue around the tissue and sterilizes the area. Nerve conduction in the lesions are modified by the laser and the laser stimulates cell turnover to speed up healing time and decrease the life of the sore. We have invested in modern treatment methods such as Laser Bacterial Reduction therapy which is a noninvasive method of killing bacteria below the gum line. This procedure is done during a routine cleaning visit if deemed necessary. The high intensity light is focused around the teeth, especially at the gum line, and is used to kill harmful bacteria in the mouth. This treatment is highly effective for ridding difficult to treat bacteria from the mouth.
